A+ Camper Program

The A+ Camper Program was established in 2009 and provides full financial assistance to a selected number of students who are unable to afford camp and are chosen by their teachers and school administrators. The Upper Palmetto YMCA has partnered with the local county school districts to identify students who have shown improvement in academics, attendance and attitude in and out of school and offered them an opportunity to experience Camp Cherokee.

In 2009, we provided $10,500 in financial assistance and sent 28 students to camp. Please consider making a donation to the A+ Camper Program and help us continue to make a difference in the lives of these outstanding children.

How to Give

Making a cash gift to Camp Cherokee is simple and easy. We accept personal checks, credit/debit transactions, cashiers checks or money orders. You can also make an online gift.

If you would like to donate via check, please make your check payable to The Upper Palmetto YMCA and include a designation for your gift as Camp Cherokee A+ Camper Program.
